2. What to look into next
Our reading
Extractive lines (crude oil, petroleum gases and refined petroleum oils) make up about 56% of Cameroon’s goods exports, so the totals mostly describe that trade. For another product, look at demand for your own line, market by market.
Sources: UN Comtrade, Cameroon exports by product, 2023 (opens in a new tab); UN Comtrade, Cameroon exports by destination, 2023 (opens in a new tab) · as of October 30, 2026
Based on: Top goods exports and goods exports
The research marks cocoa beans, sawn wood and cocoa paste as lines a small or mid-sized company could be in. If yours is one, check which markets buy that line, not only Cameroon’s top destinations overall.
Source: UN Comtrade, Cameroon exports by product, 2023 (opens in a new tab) · as of October 30, 2026
Based on: Top goods exports
Food preparations grew 91% from 2022 to 2023; soap grew 48% from 2022 to 2023. A growing line can mean buyers are looking for more; confirm it with that line’s buyers before you plan around it.

3. Trade agreements
What each arrangement can mean for a seller, and its limits. A preference is conditional: check the rules of origin before you quote.
African Continental Free Trade Area
Cameroon told the AfCFTA Secretariat that it trades under the agreement's tariff preferences, so its exporters can use the reduced tariffs in other states trading under it.
Rules-based preference, not unconditional market access. Cameroon ratified in 2020; check the importing country's own listing before you quote.
Source: AfCFTA Secretariat, status of tariff offers, July 2026 (opens in a new tab) · as of October 30, 2026
CEMAC
Cameroon applies the community customs code and exchange rules, and sales to other CEMAC states from free zone companies count as exports.
Rules-based preference, not unconditional market access. Confirm the current common external tariff with customs before you price.
Source: WTO Trade Policy Review of CEMAC, Cameroon annex, 2023 (opens in a new tab) · as of August 16, 2023
ECCAS
Cameroon is an ECCAS member, but no ECCAS tariff preference for sellers was found in the sources read.
Rules-based preference, not unconditional market access. Check the community rules for your product with customs before you claim a preference.

European Union–Central Africa interim Economic Partnership Agreement
Cameroonian goods enter the European Union duty and quota free, and the European Union's goods enter Cameroon under a phased tariff cut.
Rules-based preference, not unconditional market access. Origin rules apply; check them with customs before you claim a preference.

United Kingdom–Cameroon Economic Partnership Agreement
Keeps Cameroon's preferential access to the United Kingdom market on the terms of the European Union interim agreement.
Rules-based preference, not unconditional market access. Origin rules apply; check them before you claim a preference.

AGOA
Cameroon is not on the 2026 list of designated countries, so exports to the United States cannot claim AGOA, the United States' trade preference program for eligible African countries.
Rules-based preference, not unconditional market access. Public Law 119-103 extends AGOA to 2028, but only for designated countries.
